National Labs and Resources

This document has been partially updated (emails, websites etc.) from a document produced by the Molten Salt Advisory Group who are sponsored by UK Government and observe MSTP activities. The document summarises many of the capabilities available in the UK for the investigation of molten salts but is now dated. As you can imagine it is a snapshot in time and the capability is continually growing. The document focusses on molten salt laboratories but the UK has an excellent research network that extends far beyond this with links to international facilities. Significant new capabilities not list in the document are provided in the links below.

MULTIForm

MULTIForm Molten Salt Flow Loop

MULTIform is a research facility based in the School of Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Leeds specialising in experimental investigation and providing state of the art equipment for the study of multiphase flows in water/acidic systems and high temperature molten salt systems; at a scale that is representative of a real system.
